Vitreoretinal Surgery

Alcon offers a comprehensive range of equipment and consumables for vitreoretinal surgery.

The Accurus® 800CS console is suitable for both anterior-segment and posterior segment surgery using one cassette. All components can be prepared at the beginning of the case, meaning no delays when changing from anterior to posterior mode. Proven Turbosonics technology gives continuous burst and pulse modalities for cataract removal.

3D technology allows the surgeon to have simultaneous control of cut rate and flow, using one memory setting.

The low compliance rigid cassette gives fast, precise and consistent vacuum responses throughout the procedure.

Vented Gas Forced Infusion means instant, digitally precise control of infusion pressure.

23G and 25G Micro Incision Vitrectomy Systems are now available and adopt a single step Trocar/cannula entry system. The 23G vitrectomy probe has a cut speed of 2500cpm, and has been engineered with the cutter port 50% closer to the tip, allowing for precise retinal shaving. We also offer a full range of 23G consumables and instruments.

The Accurus High Brightness Illuminator (AHBI) is a Xenon light source which can be used in conjunction with the Accurus or standalone. Its colour properties are engineered to approximate “reference” white and it has integrated infrared and ultraviolet filters to reduce heat and phototoxic effects. The AHBI is ideal for use with micro-incision vitrectomy procedures.
