Alcon boasts the broadest portfolio of eye care products in the three key ophthalmic categories: Surgical,
Pharmaceutical and Consumer Eye Care products. Alcon has a dominant position in the ophthalmic surgical marketplace
being the market leader in both cataract and vitreoretinal surgery. The ophthalmic pharmaceutical portfolio
is comprehensive and covers many therapeutic sectors, several of which Alcon is the market leader. The portfolio
of consumer products covers dry-eye, ocular vitamins and solutions for contact lenses.
Alcon United Kingdom, with its flagship office based in Hemel Hempstead was established in 1969. The Alcon-owned facility occupies 26,000 square feet of office space and includes a 34,000 square feet warehouse facility. Here, nearly 140 Alcon employees are dedicated to selling and distributing a full range of ophthalmic surgical equipment and supplies, as well as pharmaceutical products.
